Perinatal Therapy
with Nikki Rollo, PhD, LMFT
As a mother of three, I know how destabilizing the time before and after birth can be.
Are you worrying before every appointment? Lying awake at night replaying “what ifs”? Do you feel like you should be happier, yet can’t shake the tension in your body?
Whether you’re trying to conceive, pregnant, or postpartum, you don’t have to face these fears alone.
Moms Come To Me When They
Feel anxious or panicky
Can’t sleep
Are going through fertility challenges
Worry before every doctor visit
Feel uncomfortable in their body
Fear what will happen after birth
Notice an identity shift
Carry grief from a previous loss
When fertility challenges, pregnancy or postpartum feels harder than you expected, focused therapy with me helps.
“In therapy, we get real and turn towards you. When we’re not avoiding it anymore, we can move through it.”
How I Approach Perinatal Therapy
In therapy, we get real about what’s showing up for you: your thoughts, your body, your fears, and find your steadiness within.
You’ll learn to calm your mind, reconnect with your body, and find compassion for yourself through a combination of therapies: We’ll use a combination of approaches:
-
Jungian oriented therapy helps explore identity shifts and deep emotional patterns so you can understand yourself more deeply in this new chapter.
-
Somatic approaches use mindfulness and body tracking to soothe tension, release fear, and feel more at home in your body.
-
DBT offers tools to balance intense emotions, cope with stress and increase mindfulness.
-
CFT uses breathing and other exercises to reduce guilt, shame, or self-judgment.
-
CBT challenges anxious thoughts and “what if” cycles, helping you focus on what’s within your control.
-
Systems Theory considers your family, culture, and relationships so therapy supports the whole picture of your life.
Meet this transition with clarity, calm, and confidence.
This season of life can bring both excitement and fear
We’ll create space to talk about what’s scary without judgment, practice nervous system regulation, and build confidence in your ability to care for yourself as you care for your growing family.
With Perinatal Therapy, you’ll experience:
Less anxiety + worry
Deeper self-understanding
Feeling grounded
Knowing you’re not alone
Relief from guilt or shame
Space for joy + connection
About Nikki Rollo, PhD, LMFT, CEDS-C, PMH-C
I specialize in perinatal and maternal mental health, working with women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, loss, or fertility challenges. I understand how isolating this time can feel when everyone expects you to be glowing but inside, you’re just trying to hold it together.
Together, we’ll make space for all of it: the fear, the uncertainty, the small moments of peace. In this process, you’ll find yourself again and find your capacity for holding joy in the midst of great changes.
Outside of therapy, I’m a mom of three and know firsthand that support, rest, and honest conversations matter more than perfection.
Availability: I work with moms in-person in Brooklyn, and online in New York, California, and Vermont.
